Eiffage Energía takes part in the I Conference on Industrial Engineering of the UCLM (Castilla La Mancha University)

José Manuel Martínez, CEO of Eiffage Energía has taken part in the I Conference on Industrial Engineering of the Castilla-La Mancha University with a presentation on The role of Industrial Engineering in large companies: Eiffage. This is one of the various acts which have served to give importance to the studies for University Master’s in Industrial Engineering.

Celebrated yesterday in the Higher School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of Albacete, this act’s objective was to make known to the students the studies for University Master’s in Industrial Engineering which is taught at the Centre. The School’s directors wished to convey to the students the importance when choosing between different postgraduate courses and to answer all their questions.

In this Conference, the study plan of this University Master’s was gone over in detail from an applied point of view of the responsibilities of industrial engineers. Both in the presentations and the round table, the career opportunities in the company world were explained; the function of engineers in the area of public administration and their role in the ever more important research side were other topics expounded at the university act.

Besides the contribution of José Manuel Martínez, other speakers from leading companies were gathered such as, for example, the Head of Industrial Services of AIRBUS Helicopters Spain, the Head of Industrial and Energy Services of the Regional Government of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, D. Ismael Pérez or the Dean of the Official School of Industrial Engineers of Albacete, D. Ginés Moratalla among many others.

Within the university area, the UCLM is one of the signatories of the Industrial Pact of Castilla-La Mancha, which incorporates a Professional Technical Training Plan to promote the incorporation of technicians specialist in technological development and innovation projects developed in companies and with the collaboration of Technological Centres and the University by means of the giving of grants and internship programmes.

Eiffage Energía maintains an agreement with the UCLM to encourage training courses to those recently graduated or students on internship, and prepares them for carrying out the professional activity.

Currently, 12% of Eiffage Energía’s workforce are engineers (370 of 3,100) among which are included: senior engineers and technical engineers working at Eiffage Energía with internship contracts and engineers working through a collaboration agreement with Engineering Schools carrying out internships in the company.

Besides conducting internships for students, Eiffage Energía takes part in the UCLM’s employment fairs and collaborates with other local bodies. It also has framework agreements with other Spanish universities such as:

  • Universidad Francisco de Victoria en Madrid
  • Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
  • Universidad Complutense Madrid.
  • Universidad Castellón
  • Universidad Sevilla
  • Universidad Miguel Hernández.
  • Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
