Eiffage Energía builds the electrical infrastructure for the Talasol solar plant in Extremadura

Talasol solar plant in Extremadura. The Greek company METKA, a subsidiary of MYTILINEOS, has entrusted Eiffage Energía with the construction (EPC) of the electrical infrastructure for the Talasol solar power plant. The work will be completed this July.

One of the largest in Spain and Europe

This photovoltaic plant, which will occupy a surface area of 615 hectares and be built in the town of Talaván, in Cáceres, will be one of the largest in Spain, with a capacity of 300 megawatts (MW). The Talasol plant will also become one of the largest in Europe, along with the French facility in Cestas, near Bordeaux, which it will equal in power. Eiffage Energia is also responsible for the electrical installation of this French plant.

It will prevent the atmospheric emission of 263,000 tonnes of CO2 per year

The Talasol plant, which will be one of the first to be commissioned and financed outside the framework of renewable energy auctions, will prevent the atmospheric emission of 263,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. The scope of the project includes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), as well as auxiliary facilities to inject energy into the grid. It also has a 400-kV substation; a 24 km high-voltage line for interconnection with the grid; and a 2-year operation and maintenance (O&M) services contract.
