Safety Month has just ended at Eiffage Energía. This year we celebrated it under the slogan “All workers: sharing our good practices”.
Safety challenge
The activities carried out included the participation of employees from all branches and subsidiaries in what has been called a “safety challenge”.
The purpose of this initiative is to involve all employees with the goal of enabling them to improve their own safety conditions.
Thus, more than 500 good practices have been collected and shared by all employees. In this way, Eiffage Energía employees have once again demonstrated their commitment to occupational health and safety. This week the panels established will have to select the three best good practices out of all those received in their areas. Then, at the end of July, from among the pre-selected good practices, the three best ones will be selected and they will be eligible for a prize. Those selected will compete in Paris alongside the winners from the various business groups that make up Eiffage’s Energy branch.
Good practices at Eiffage Energía
Among the proposals presented were an electric cooler for maintaining adequate hydration given the high temperatures; Installation of a portable lighting tower system for outdoor night work involving support and pipe work; lighted beaconing of the truck jack for greater visibility, even during the day; and the use of a laser pointer for signalling live elements, safety distances to live elements or with a difference in potential. This activity is part of Eiffage’s occupational safety improvement process. The associated goals are as follows: -To encourage and promote feedback on best practices in all risk situations. -To know how to identify and analyse high-risk situations and define the prevention actions required.
Zero Risk
At Eiffage, we strive to achieve “zero risk” in all our projects and facilities in France and around the world. To achieve this, each division, line of business, subsidiary and entity has developed its own action plan specifically focused on its operations. Managers and workers receive regular training on risk prevention and safety. In addition to these courses, awareness-raising initiatives have also been introduced on the ground. Thus, managers conduct workplace inspections to ensure compliance with risk prevention regulations. At Eiffage we are committed to 100% safety in our projects. Accordingly, our goal is to provide the highest level of protection for all our employees. We make a great effort, implementing awareness campaigns, training courses, safety audits, mobile applications and other innovations, to get closer to “zero risk”.
