Next Friday, 5 March, we celebrate International Energy Efficiency Day. At Eiffage Energía we participate, as always, in this celebration, as we take very seriously the rational use of energy and the effects of climate change on the planet as part of our low carbon strategy.
Headquarters
In fact, a symbol of this commitment is our headquarters, located in Albacete. These facilities are designed to be a benchmark in terms of Sustainability and Energy Efficiency, currently in the process of Green Certification by the GBCe. These facilities are designed to achieve maximum energy efficiency and, therefore, the lowest environmental impact. Thus, our headquarters, recently built, have technical specifications of eco-efficient materials; and systems and facilities that increase efficiency and reduce consumption and, therefore, the environmental impact, achieving an Energy Rating A. The complex is equipped with solar photovoltaic, solar aerothermal, biomass power plant, rainwater recovery system for irrigation, integral LED lighting with DALI control system, electric vehicle charging points (so far we have installed more than 1500 charging points throughout the country) or BMS monitoring and control system, among others. Finally, as for all our sites, since 2017 Eiffage Energía has had an Energy management system based on the UNE-ISO 50001 implemented at three sites, including the head office.
Department of Sustainability and Transversal Innovation
In addition, following the Eiffage Group’s ‘low-carbon’ strategic vision, we have created the Department of Sustainability and Transversal Innovation. A department responsible for coordinating and managing the CSR strategy, as well as integrating differentiating low-emission solutions into the supply through its seven areas of specialization. These areas include Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies. In this way, we are actively committed to following the 2°C pathway established in the 2015 Paris Agreement and to the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Thus, we contribute, through our CSR policies, to the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs. We are also involved in corporate reporting on carbon footprint and climate, as recommended by the TCFD at group level.
