Conscytec completes the construction of two new shows at Puy Du Fou Spain

The doors of Puy du Fou Spain will reopen this coming 27 March, with a new 30-hectare world for travelling through time, four daily shows, four historical villages and the impressive evening show “The Dream of Toledo”.

Conscytec, a subsidiary of Eiffage Energía, and our installations department participated in two of these shows: The Last Song, which tells the tale of the exploits of El Cid, and Allende the Ocean Sea, an full-immersion show giving visitors the chance to embark on the Santa Maria and experience the great voyage of Christopher Columbus first hand.

Puy du Fou Spain is on its way to becoming an ambassador of the Spain Brand, as a key player in the economic recovery and the reactivation of domestic tourism in our country. All of this is thanks to an artistic concept that is unique in the world. Its predecessor in France has twice been singled out for the “Best Park in the World” award.

Over the course of the 2021 season it hopes to welcome a million visitors who will find plenty of excitement in each of the tales told in every corner of this new world.

New shows

Spectators will be able to enjoy four major shows per day in this 30-hectare space (three indoors and one outdoors). They will also get the change to tour four more period villages for a deep-dive into history: The Royal Village, the Askar Andalusi, the Venta de Isidro and El Arrabal, all located at the foot of the great wall.

At sunset, it will be time to head for Spain’s largest stage: “The Dream of Toledo”.

The daily programme includes several performances with between 1,800 and 2,400 spectators per show. They all have a sequence so for attending them without queuing or waiting.

Participation of the Eiffage Energy Group

Our subsidiary Conscytec took part in the project as a construction company, along with our installations department that worked on the indoor shows for which some unique buildings were constructed. Yet another example of the added value generated by our group by being able to offer customers both construction and installation services.

Firstly is the building for the show The Last Song. A 8600 m² and 20 m-high castle from the Middle Ages has been built for this show.

The centre of the building is fitted with a 360 degree rotating stand with a diameter of 47 m, allowing the audience to enjoy several shows performed on six stage spaces distributed around the building’s perimeter. All to tell the tale of the life and exploits of Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, El Cid.

The other indoor show that we are participating in is Allende the Ocean Sea. A building measuring 3000 m² and 9 m high has been constructed, allowing visitors to embark on a voyage in the Santa Maria along with the crew of Christopher Columbus.

The building gives visitors the chance to embark on an exciting voyage to the New World.

All of us at the Eiffage Energía Group feel particularly proud to take part in such an emblematic project that will be visited by millions of people. Our collaboration is showcasing the history of Spain as never before, in a project developed in the Castile-La Mancha region where our National Headquarters are located.

We are also participating in the indoor show in building AC. A 3000 m², 9 m high building has been constructed, based around the theme of a 15th century caravel.

It has a prefabricated concrete structure with 26 m long pre-stressed beams. The building allows the audience to take a themed tour through the inside of a caravel. The stage spaces are all in motion to simulate waves. The show’s theme is the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus.
